PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing quaternary ammonium salt for an aluminum electrolytic capacitor or a super capacitor, in which high yield can be attained, reaction can be simply controlled, and raw material can be easily obtained. SOLUTION: In the present invention, quaternary ammonium salt of carbonic acid monoalkyl ester, and ammonium salt of fluorine-acid complex such as tetrafluoboric acid are reacted in proper solvent for obtaining the quaternary ammonium salt.
