The electrical cable has cable plugs mounted at both cable ends such that the cable plug mounted on the one end is configured as pin plug (1) and the cable plug mounted on the other cable end is configured as socket plug (25). Electrical contact elements (8) are fixed to the electric conductors of a cable (11) on both cable ends and the contact elements are configured in the form of contact pins or in the form of contact sockets. The contact elements fixed to the one cable end are inserted in passages of contact supports (26) of the cable plug mounted on the cable end.
