A method and a system for digital tracking in direct and polar modulations are provided to minimize an objective function by utilizing at least one of a least mean square algorithm, a conjugate descent algorithm, and a recursive least squares algorithm. A system includes at least one circuit(220) for executing the adaptation of analog PLL(Phase Locked Loop) and digital control during direct and polar modulations of signals. The analog PLL includes a part of at least one of an integer-N PLL, an integer-N synthesizer, a fractional-N PLL, a fractional-N synthesizer, a delta-sigma fractional-N PLL, a delta-sigma fractional-N synthesizer, a hybrid PLL, and a hybrid synthesizer. The circuit generates digital signals for controlling the adaptation and the digital control.
