<p>A pharmaceutical composition or dietary supplement or another preparation suitable for oral administration, having health promoting effects on the joints and the musculoskeletal apparatus, comprising glucosamine or a simple or mixed salt thereof, preferably in the form of crystalline glucosamine sulphate, and mangostin, preferably in the form of an extract of <Italic>Garcinia mangostana</Italic> fruit. Thanks to a combination of activities, such as that of stimulating trophism and protecting joint cartilage and an anti-inflammatory activity towards musculoskeletal tissues, the association of the aforementioned active agents may be used to obtain health promoting effects for maintaining osteoarticular wellbeing and for the prevention and treatment of degenerative or inflammatory disorders of the osteoarticular or musculoskeletal apparatus.</p> |
