PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent sealing performance from being deteriorated by refilling even for an ink cartridge having an ink feeding port which is sealed by a sealing member even at the time of refilling. SOLUTION: In this refill ink cartridge, an ink is housed, and the refill ink cartridge has the ink feeding port 131 at which an ink feeding port for feeding the ink is sealed with an elastically deformable seal member 136. Then, the ink is re-injected from the ink feeding port 131 by piercing a needlelike member 303 through the seal member 136 for the refill ink cartridge. A protective member 10 having protrusions 11 and 12 as a sealing section for sealing the ink feeding port 131 outside a seal member 136 is fitted to the ink feeding port 131.
