PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming device, for obtaining further stable and satisfactory transfer performance with a simple structure. SOLUTION: In the image forming device 100, a transfer member 5 includes an elastic member 51 and a sheet member 52 held between a belt body 7 and the elastic member 51 and surface-contacting with the belt body 7. In a moving direction of the belt body 7, a downstream-side end part of a contact area A between an image carrier 1 and the belt body 7 is located within a contact area B between the sheet member 51 and the belt body 7.
