<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thin light guide plate by making the thickness of the guide plate thinner and to manufacture a light guide plate in a short period of time with high accuracy, even when a light emitting diode with thickness larger than the thickness of the light guide plate is used, in a backlight having the light emitting diode disposed on the side face of the light guide plate. <P>SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display device has the backlight which irradiates a liquid crystal panel with light, wherein LEDs are provided as a light emitting element to a light guide plate disposed in the backlight, the light-exiting portion of the light guide plate is molded by pressurizing and heating a sheet type resin, while a light entering portion is produced by injection-molding a resin. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
