METHOD, RECORDING MEDIUM AND APPARATUS FOR GENERATING MEDIA CLOCK

A method, a recording medium and an apparatus for generating media clock are provided to ensure synchronization between video picture and advanced application by calculating correct media clock corresponding to each video picture and using the media clock as the reference time of the application operation. A method for generating media clock is as follows. A presentation start time of EVOBU(Enhanced Video Object Unit) is confirmed, wherein the EVOBU is STC(System Time Clock) of reproduced video(420). The accumulation playtime of one or more EVOBU prior to the EVOBU is set as the start time point of media clock(430,440). The presentation start time is subtracted from the system time clock and the start time point of the media clock is added to the result so that the media clock of the reproduced video is set up(450,460).
