<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stator blade built in a torque converter, which changes the direction of a working fluid output from a turbine runner, introduces it to a pump impeller, and promotes a rotation. Ž<P>SOLUTION: The blade 4 is manufactured by punching and bending a metal plate. A blade body 6 is thickened at a flow-in side of the working fluid like a wing section of an airplane, and is shaped to have a curved cross section on the whole. A shaft section 7 is provided in an inner peripheral side to fit in a shaft hole 13 provided in a body section outer periphery, and a smooth concave or recessed groove is formed in the outer periphery so that a core section 3 made of a metal band is restricted not to come out.
