PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a sheet size matching a document automatically through an automatic sheet selecting function even if an automatic turning function is set when an image is formed in cover/lined sheet mode. SOLUTION: When a cover and a lined sheet are fed from a designated sheet feed stage and a cover/lined sheet mode for inserting into printed sheet is set, a CPU 171 disables an automatic image turning means before operating an automatic sheet selecting means. The automatic image turning means is means for selecting a sheet feed stage having a print sheet of such size as matching an image to be formed. The automatic sheet selecting means is means for turning an image if the total image can not be printed on the print sheet without turning and both means are provided as the function of the CPU 171.
