The present invention relates to an apparatus for searching for a disease-associated gene and a method therefor. The present invention provides an apparatus for searching for a disease-associated gene, which, when an amount of gene expression is predicted from samples having similar gene expression patterns, scores a difference between accuracy degrees of the amount of gene expression predicted between two different disease conditions and selects a gene having a larger difference as a gene related to a corresponding disease, thereby more accurately and efficiently selecting a key disease-related gene associated with a biological process from a given sample group, and a method therefor. To achieve this, the apparatus for searching for a disease-related gene according to the present invention includes: a cooperation filtering unit for receiving gene expression amount data including gene expression amount information of a plurality of samples with respect to certain types of predetermined genes, selecting the samples having a correlation of a predetermined level or higher between the gene expression amounts of the samples as neighboring samples, and predicting a gene expression amount of each of the samples using gene expression amounts of the neighboring samples selected according to each sample; and a disease relevance score calculation unit for calculating a disease relevance score of each of the genes using gene expression amount prediction data of each of the samples and the gene expression amount data. |
