Provided is a pretreated gold ore suitable for recovering gold by wet processing from a gold ore containing pyrite. A pretreated gold ore for recovering, by wet processing, gold contained in a gold ore containing pyrite (FeS2), wherein 60% or more of the pyrite in the gold ore prior to pretreatment has been converted into pyrrhotite represented by the following formula Fe1-xS (where x is 0 to 0.2), and the cumulative pore volume of pores having a pore diameter of 3 to 5 μm is at least twice that before pretreatment. |
