A device for implantation into a blood vessel, the device comprising a stent having a coating, where the coating consists of a biocompatible polymer that is poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)-b-poly(L-lysinse) or polyurethane; 1,3-dipropyl-8-cyclopentyl xanthine (DPCPX); and optionally an adenosine A2B receptor agonist or an adenosine A2A receptor agonist, wherein the DPCPX is released from the stent over a period of from about 7 days to about 100 days and the DPCPX has a surface density in the coating from 0.5 μg/mm2 to 1 μg/mm2.
