Each pair is separated from an adjacent pair by a slot 18 which extends from the tip towards the head so that they are completely separated at the tip. A number of preferably tapered external longitudinal ribs 24 may be provided which are arranged asymmetrically of the slots and cause partial collapse of the body portion when the anchor is inserted in a hole in a support member, the internal edges of the slots 20 forming splines 30, Fig. 7, which the screw engages. The anchor may be manufactured from nylon.</p> |
