<p>A method and apparatus for processing data to manage transaction logs using a host system and terminals, whereby easy and exact recovery of data is provided after a damage of data. Transaction log data input from a POS terminal (12) are transmitted to a server controller (11) for each transaction, and stored in the server controller (11). On recovery from a failure in the POS terminal (12), the server controller (11) is informed by the POS terminal (12). Transaction log data for the current date and hard total data for the previous data are acquired from the server controller (11), and the transaction log data and the hard total for the current date are recovered according to the acquired data. As a result, POS terminal (12) is restored to the normal condition before the trouble.</p> |
