An electrophotographic method which is designed such that, in the production of a copied image using an electrophotographic element which has been produced by coating an electrically conductive coating carrier with a layer generating charge carriers and a charge transport layer, the various irradiations with light to be applied during the copying process are carried out wholly or partly using light from which the light of the waveband in which the charge transport layer absorbs has been excluded.
