PURPOSE:To make hydrogen storable with a capacity of one-tenth as compared with the conventional hydrogen cylinder, by attaching a coil, giving an AC magnetic field, to a vessel body housing a metallic hydride, while feeding this coil with an AC current. CONSTITUTION:A vessel 4 is one housing a metallic hydride 5 and its circumference is covered with coils 3. In this connection, each setting position of these coils 3 will do either of the inside or the outside of the vessel 4. When a relatively low frequency voltage is given to each coil 3 from an AC power source 1 via an oscillator 2, a magnetic field is produced inside the vessel 4, and with this AC magnetic field, an overcurrent is produced in the metallic hydride 5 whereby heat generation by Joule heat occurs. This heat generation is produced direct inside the metallic hydride 5 so that speedy heating is performable irrespective of an adiabatic effect due to an air gap between fines of the metallic hydride 5. |
