PURPOSE:To measure an angle of inclination in a non-contact state, by starting the operation of the angle of inclination with respect to a signal processing apparatus by panel operation in such a state that a ridge line to be measured is perfectly placed on a marker. CONSTITUTION:An article 2 to be measured is placed on a mount stand 3 and the position of a TV camera 5 is adjusted by sliders 6a, 6b to display a ridge line 2a to be measure at the almost central part on the picture of a monitor television 7. The position of the article 2 to be measured is adjusted and the part of the ridge line 2a is aligned with the image line of a reference straight line 4 in a state displayed on the picture in a planar state. The TV camera 15 is positionally adjusted by sliders 11, 12 and the ridge line 2a is perfectly placed on markers M1, M2 so as to be displayed on the picture of the monitor television 16. From level data h1, h2 corresponding to this set state and marker interval data L, an angle theta of inclination is calculated by tan theta=(h2-h1)/L. By this method, the angle of inclination can be measured in a non-contact state.
