A safety contactor includes: . an insulating casing 1, . an insulating pusher 2 which can move between two extreme positions corresponding respectively to one projecting outside the casing 1 and to one depressed inside the casing 1, at least one elastic restoring element 5 tending to return the pusher 2 into the projecting position, and . an insulating cover 3 for closing the casing 1, . at least one pair of contacts 12 connected to the two parts of a cable 11 and, . at least one joining member 23 solid with the pusher 2, the said joining member pressing on the two contacts 12 of the pair of contacts when the pusher 2 is in the depressed position. The joining members 23 are either conductors or insulators and establish either a connection or a break between the two contacts 12 of the pair of contacts which is associated with them when the pusher 2 is in the depressed position. <IMAGE>
