PURPOSE:To perform tracking at the same time as the shift of a head, by constituting a support guide shifting a reading head with a pair of elastic plates, providing a prescribed width for each elastic plate in the direction orthogonal to a rotating disc surface and providing a free end thereof at the reading head side. CONSTITUTION:An optical head 1 is shifted in the direction in parallel with a disc 2 and orthogonal to the information track. The disc 2 is driven rotatably with a motor 3 and a pair of elastic plates 4, 5 is arranged at the lower position of the disc 2 so as to clip a rotating shaft 3a. One end of the elastic plates 4, 5 is a fixed end positioned opposite to the head 1 and its free end is an end connected to the head 1. The elastic plates 4, 5 have a prescribed width in the direction orthogonal to the disc surface. A moving coil type linear motor 7 is provided between the motor 3 and the head 1. When a motor 7 is driven, the head 1 is shifted in the direction A and the elastic 4, 5 support and guide the head in the direction A. The tracking is done together with the shift of head in reading the information in this way. |
