PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve mechanical strength and reduce electrical resistance by providing a support material, having a specified contact angle between adjacent layers of at least two layers of laminated film composed of one kind or more fluorine-containing polymer having one kind or more functional groups. SOLUTION: A support material for improving elastic coefficient with an electrolyte film reinforced between adjacent layers is made of a woven cloth, having a 0-90 degrees for contact angle and strong adhesion characteristic, and composed of fluorine-containing polymer fiber having 2-20 aspect ratio as well as 50-600 denyl. It is preferable that the support material obtained by surface treating perfluorocarbon polymer fiber woven cloth by the corona discharge or plasme application be immersed in fluorine-containing polyer solution, having a high acid functional group such as a sulfonic acid group or carboxylic group, then dried for manufacturing. Through good wettability of the support material and intruduction of ion exchange groups into the surface, ion conductivity in the surface area is developped. It is also preferable that a specified ratio of a tentative reinforcing material which is removed for restraining electrical resistance is contained in the woven cloth. |
