DEVICE AND METHOD FOR IMAGE PROCESSING

PURPOSE:To provide an image processor which is reduced in increase in circuit scale accompanying the addition of a video effect processing function. CONSTITUTION:The image processor has a video effect processing part 13 which performs a mosaic process for an inputted inverse quantized discrete cosine conversion coefficient and outputs the result as its output signal. The video effect processing part 13 has a DC component processing means which generates the DC component of the output signal by multiplying the DC component of the inputted discrete cosine conversion coefficient by (h) (constant other than 0) and an AC component processing means which generates the AC component of the output signal by replacing the AC component of the inputted discrete cosine conversion coefficient with '0'. Similarly, a monochromatic converting process and a thermograph converting process are performed through operation. Therefore, the arithmetic processing performed for the reverse quantized discrete cosine conversion coefficient to perform the mosaic process and a large amount of data for the processes need not be stored in the device to decrease the circuit scale.
