<p>PURPOSE:To suppress the number CLAD sections (cell composition decomposition circuits) and the number of cell conversion buffer memories from being increased and to suppress the increase in a delay time in the cell processing of low speed data in the case of transferring plural isochronous data in the case of ATM cell transfer in which the isochronous data are converted into a fixed length ATM (asynchronous transfer mode) cell for asynchronous transfer. CONSTITUTION:Isochronous data from plural transmitter side terminal equipments 1 through a 1st time division multiplex/demultiplex bus 3 are subjected to time division multiplex into multi-frames each comprising Q (positive number) sets of frames each of which consists of P-sets (positive number) of time slots, the multiplexed multi-frame information is given to a 1st CLAD section 4, in which the information is divided into the fixed length of information, the multi-frame is converted into ATM cells in which the divided multiplex information is set to an information field of an ATM cell, and position information {F(Y), TS(X)} at a head time slot of the multiplex information in a multi-frame is used for a VCI in a header and a header a VPI(virtual path identifier)/-VCI(virtual channel identifier) is added, an ATM communication network 6 exchanges ATM cells and the isochronous data are transferred by using the ATM cells.</p> |
