Double metal cyanide catalyst composition comprising a polyether polyol

The solid double metal cyanide catalyst for epoxide polymerisations, comprises: (a) a double metal cyanide cpd.; (b) an organic complexing agent; and (c) 5-80 wt.% of a polyether polyol; where: (i) some or all of the OH gps. of the polyether polyol are tert. OH gps. Also claimed are: (A) a method of preparing a solid double metal cyanide catalyst; and (B) a method of preparing a solid double metal cyanide catalyst comprising reacting aq. solns. of metal and metal cyanide salts.
