Display device with signal sampling

The display device (7) includes a calculation unit (3) for recognizing an input signal. The calculation unit comprises an interface (6) and is formed for sampling a signal, that is supplied over the interface. The calculation unit samples the signal at first with a first frequency, and switches to a second, pref. higher frequency, after recognizing a first signal pattern. After recognizing a second signal pattern the calculation unit recognizes the input signal and switches into an operating condition associated with the input signal.
