PURPOSE:To unnecessitate to provide on an upper deck any mast that interferes with cargo handling operations, by slidably fitting a rigging boom to a crane boom. CONSTITUTION:The rigging boom 3 is fitted to the crane boom 13, is maintained to be upright by a holder 15, and a lifting rope 14 is reeledup in accordance with the cargo handling operation of a crane 12 so that the rigging boom 3 is lifted up to furl sails 32a-32c. When unfurling the sails, the lifting rope 14 of the crane 12 is reeled out to move the rigging boom 3 so as to unfurl the sails, the holder 15 is released, the crane boom 13 is tilted by the crane 12, and the rigging boom 3 is stored on a storing table. Accordingly, since the sails are furled and unfurled by the cargo handling device and the rigging boom is stored at such a place as not to interfere with the cargo handling operation when handling the cargo, it is unnecessitated to provide on the upper deck any mast that interferes with the cargo handling operations, and the construction cost can be saved. |
