Driving position with improved visibility for self propelled road roller

A self propelled road roller, or compactor, has at least one roller (13) and is controlled from a driving position which has the driving controls and the seat on a module separate from the vehicle. The control module is mounted on guides which enable the operator to move to either side of the vehicle and view either edge of the roller. The guides are fitted to a support plate which is mounted on the vehicle on sprung mountings, with limited movement. The support plate can be fitted with the roll over protection cage.
