PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for packaging contact lenses. SOLUTION: One heated mandrel 32 is disposed above a plurality of containers 24. This heated mandrel is movable between a retreating position located above these plural containers and an engaging position nearby the plural containers. Further, a lid material 26 is selectively movable between its retreating position and its insertion position. The insertion position is arranged between the heated mandrel and the plural containers, and the position of the lid material is fixedly kept until at least the heated mandrel is brought into contact with the lid material while moving to its engaging position at the insertion position of the lid material. Furthermore, in another mode of employment, a lid material is provided which has a printed display part. Such a lid material is fed from a roll under constant tension. A visual matching inspection system inspects printed contents on the lid material and a matching state in a means for feeding the lid material as well.
