PURPOSE: A muffler is provided to improve noise removal effect by installing a corrugated pipe, glass wool, a resonance pipe and a resonance chamber in a muffler. CONSTITUTION: A resonance chamber(1) is installed by blocking up a third chamber in a muffler(53). An auxiliary pipe(63) withdrawn from the third chamber penetrates through a third baffle(2). A resonance pipe(3) formed in the auxiliary pipe resonates by the inflow of exhaust emission into the resonance chamber. A corrugated pipe(6) is formed in a cross shape for penetrating through a second chamber and filled with glass wool(5). A portion of combustion gas of an engine flows into the corrugated pipe and to the second chamber through an air hole(4) of the corrugated pipe. According to long and short shafts of the corrugate pipe, sound pressures of exhaust emission are absorbed in respective bands. The glass wool reduces flow velocity of the exhaust emission passing through the corrugated pipe, and entire noise reduction performance of a muffler is improved. The exhaust emission passing through the corrugated pipe flows into the auxiliary pipe, and the noise vibration of the exhaust emission is removed in the resonance chamber.
