A process for producing a vinyl polymer having functional groups at the ends of the molecular chain which comprises adding a compound (I) having a functional group and an internal alkenyl group or a conjugated polyene compound (II) in the living radical polymerization of a radical-polymerizable vinyl monomer; a vinyl polymer which has functional groups at the ends of the molecular chain and can be obtained by the process; and a curable composition containing the polymer.
