The chisel, esp. flat or pointed chisel, has a shaft (3) and/or a head (4) with axial apertures (7) and/or ribs or webs (6). These extend parallel to a longitudinal chisel axis (9) and/or a side of the chisel head. The aperture have a semi-circular, U-shaped, or V-shaped cross section, and are pref. defined by ribs/webs along the sides. The apertures in the chisel head are geometrically aligned in direction of the shock waves.
