A number of spinning packs (7) fed from a central source by a melt distribution system (6) are arranged in a circle. The filaments are converged into yarns (12) and taken over guides (11, 13) so that they are in line before further treatment, e.g. drawing (14), winding (15) takes place. The angles of contact on the guides (11, 13) are kept as low as possible. An Independent claim is also included for plant required for this process. The guides (11, 13) are arranged so that the total of the angles of contact for each yarn are as nearly equal as possible so that all yarns experience the same frictional forces.
