The invention relates to a method for obtaining information regarding interference in the receiver of a message transmission system. The aim of the invention is to provide a solution to the problem of procuring information regarding the characteristics of interference. The problem is solved in a receiving device with Ka receiving antennae by first obtaining information regarding the useful signal from the receiving signals of the antennae in a first step. Information regarding the interference signal(s) can then be obtained from the complete received signals which contain the useful signal(s) and the interference signal(s) and the information regarding the useful signal(s) which was obtained in the first step, in a second step.
