The trash bin which allows the selective sorting and storage of household trash is composed of four compartments (2,3,4,7) each containing a container. The containers are of identical size, one for non-recyclable trash, two for recyclable trash and the fourth for plastic bags used for the non-recyclable trash. The compartments are placed around a central triangle forming the compartment (1) which houses the cover opening and closing mechanism (5).
