PURPOSE: A transmission lever for automatic transmission is provided to reduce inside noise by preventing a press button from being moved in all directions when a transmission lever is operated. CONSTITUTION: A transmission lever for automatic transmission includes a knob(11) having an installation hole(11b) opened upwardly, a button guide member(13) mounted in the installation hole through the medium of a plurality of screws(12), a press button(14) fit inside the button guide member in a upwardly movable manner, a rod connection member(16) connected with an inner and upper surface of the press button and connected with an end of a rod(15) passing the button guide member without friction, an upper end compressing spring(17) mounted between the rod connection member and the press button for elastically supporting the press button, and a lower end compressing spring(18) mounted between the rod connection member and the button guide member for elastically supporting the rod connection member.
