PURPOSE: A device and a method for downloading the byte stream on the data transmitting are provided to download an application program through a serial interface without interrupting the operating application. CONSTITUTION: The byte stream download system comprises a transmitting buffer(10) transferring the download data without a format through the serial interface, a receiving buffer(20) storing the byte stream of all variable size displayed on the download data inputted from the transmitting buffer, a timer(30) operated to analyze the record, a record analyzer(40) analyzing the completed record by confirming the receiving buffer, and a code buffer(50) storing the record in case that the analysis result of the record is a normal state. The download comprises a part storing the byte stream in the receiving buffer by regarding each byte as the simple byte stream having no connection with each other, a part obtaining the completed record by using a periodic timer, and a part analyzing the stored byte stream.
