The assembling operation involves transporting casement frames (20.1) along a roller conveyor (30). Guide jibs (31,32) hold the casement frame and turn it into a position in which the frame's corner is placed opposite the assembly device (34). A grip or tensioning head (34) holds the casement frame secure. With its assembling head (35) the assembly device will already have extracted one of the corner reinforcing elbows (1.n) from the corner reinforcing elbow stack (38). Each corner reinforcing elbow fixed onto a frame corner is fastened on the casement frame with the help of screw units (36,37). Each frame corner is consequently fitted with a corner reinforcing elbow.
