<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inspection method and an inspection device for a steel product surface defect capable of inspecting a surface defect on a corner part of a steel product accurately regardless of some displacement of an edge part and deformation of the steel product. <P>SOLUTION: This inspection device K is equipped with an irradiation means 1 for irradiating slantingly the steel product W corner part with a slit beam L, an imaging means 2 for imaging a light locus M formed on the steel product W corner part by the beam L, an output means 4, and a control means 3. In the device K, the steel product W corner part is irradiated slantingly with the beam L, and the light locus is imaged by the imaging means 2, and the normal corner part shape is estimated from the image, and the estimated shape is compared with the shape of the picked-up image, to thereby determine existence of a defect. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
