<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a server device that can be simply utilized by reducing setting troubles in a communication device, for example by connecting the communication device utilizing other communication lines so far to a data exchange network, in a system for communicating by an electronic mail; and to provide the communication device. <P>SOLUTION: The communication device 1 acquires an IP address from a DHCP server 3 and sends the IP address and an extension number that has been used till then to a mail server 2, when the communication device 1 is connected to a LAN 5. When the mail server 2 receives the IP address and the extension number from the communication device 1, a distribution address registration section 22 automatically generates a distribution address for distributing an electronic mail, based on the received extension number.
