<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressing belt with greatly reduced occurrence of pinholes, and to provide a method for manufacturing thereof. <P>SOLUTION: The pressing belt comprises a reinforcing base material containing multi-filaments impregnated with a sizing agent, buried in an elastic material, and the method for manufacturing the pressing belt. The reinforcing base material preferably composed of a woven fabric, and the sizing agent preferably includes a thermosetting resin as a primary component. As the sizing agent, an agent including a urethane based resin as a primary component is suitably used. As the reinforcing base material, an organic fiber is preferably used.
