PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a weed growth suppressing agent (material) produced solely from natural resources and friendly to environment by using the plant growth suppressing effect of cedar and cypress. SOLUTION: A liquid extract produced by extracting cedar or cypress is used as a spraying liquid. The weed growth suppressing material is produced by adding a soil improver and a binder to its bark or an extract thereof and forming the mixture in the form of block or sheet.
