PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery pack in which cycle life characteristics of a battery set are improved by adding a simple control circuit. SOLUTION: In the battery set 10 formed by serially connecting a plurality of unit cells, one unit sell 18 of the plurality of the unit cells of the battery set 10 is arranged at the first stage counting from a negative electrode terminal of the battery set 10, and is made to have lower rated capacity than that of the other unit cells. The temperature and voltage of the low capacity unit cell 18 with low rated capacity are detected, and full charge of the low capacity unit cell 18 is determined based on the detection results. When full charge is determined, charge of the battery set 10 is stopped. Also, based on the detection results, it is determined whether or not the low capacity unit cell 18 is in a state of immediately before over-discharge. When it is determined that the low capacity unit cell 18 is in the state of immediately before over-discharge, use of the battery set 10 is stopped. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
