摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a solid inkjet printer which can cope with a secular characteristic change of an ink droplet generating part. SOLUTION: An average size of ejected ink droplets is obtained on the basis of the number of the ink droplets ejected from the printer nozzles within a predetermined time and an amount of ink which passes a predetermined point in the ink stick feeding system within the same time. When the obtained average size does not agree with a predetermined ink droplet size condition, a nozzle activation signal is corrected to change the ink droplet size. The amount of passing ink is detected by counting the number of ink sticks 30 or its virtual pieces which pass the predetermined point by a mechanical arm type or thermistor type counting mechanism. For example, a part to be detected 150 is formed at an external surface of the ink stick 30. A temperature change brought about at a melting plate 32D by a difference between a sectional area of a formation part where the part to be detected is formed in the ink stick 30 and a sectional area of the other part is detected by thermistors 210 and 222.
