PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain standard compatibility without incurring interference with a standardized data communication even when transmitting/receiving data in a standard non-compliant state regarding a method for performing increased data rate transmissions in a wireless communication and a method for receiving high data rate wireless communication transmissions. SOLUTION: The method for performing increased data rate transmissions in a wireless communication includes: processing data at a rate combining a plurality of wireless communication standardized data rates at a media access control (MAC) level to produce MAC data; processing the MAC data to produce a plurality of signals at baseband or near baseband, the number of the plurality of signals corresponding to an integer multiple; converting each of the plurality of signals into a plurality of radio frequency (RF) signals; and transmitting the plurality of RF signals in accordance with a wireless communication standardized data rate. On the other hand, the method for receiving high data rate wireless communication transmissions includes processing the MAC data at a combination rate of a plurality of wireless communication standardized data rates to produce recovered data.
