METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING DATA ON PLC NETWORK BY MULTICASTING DATA

A method and an apparatus for transmitting data on a PLC(Power Line Communication) network after multicasting the data are provided to form a group by grouping plural receiving stations receiving the same data and transmit the data to the group from a transmitting station, thereby preventing waste of channel bandwidths and data reception of a station which a user does not desired to receive data. A data transmitting method comprises: grouping plural receiving stations, receiving the same data, to form a group; and transmitting the data to the group from a transmitting station. The method further comprises a step of making at least one special receiving station join the group after forming the group.
