PURPOSE:To enable uniform vulcanization and to conserve energy as well as to attain the automation of a production process and to enhance productivity, by irradiating microwave to an elastomer article molded in a mold comprising a special material absorbing no microwave to heat the same. CONSTITUTION:An unvulcanized elstomer article is introduced into a mold made of a material hardly absorbing microwave, having good heat insulating property, strength and good heat resistance, for example, ceramics. In this condition, the vulcanization of the elastomer article is carried out by carrying out intermittent irradiation of microwave by using an oven type microwave irradiating apparatus to heat said elastomer article while the mold is rotated by a turn table. In addition, as the material of the aforementioned mold, one of which epsilon is below 7, tan delta is below 0.02, epsilon.tan delta is below 0.14 at 2,450Hz, heat conductivity is 0.01cal/cm.sec. deg.C or less and compression strength is 50kg/cm<2> is pref. used. |
