POLARIZATION CONVERTING LIGHT GUIDE PLATE UNIT AND DISPLAY DEVICE EMPLOYING THE SAME

A polarization converting light guide plate unit and a display device adopting the same are provided to convert the polarized light set at a zero angle or right angle to a polarization axis by converting the polarized light through the change of phase generated by reflection. A polarization converting light guide plate unit is composed of a light guide plate(110) for guiding the light incident from a light source(100) and having receiving and emitting patterns(112) of the incident light at the lower side and a polarization converting element(130) disposed at the lower portion of the light guide plate, to convert polarization of the light incident through the receiving and emitting patterns and emit the converted light to the light guide plate. The receiving and emitting pattern has an inclined plane inclined for an upside of the light guide plate.
