PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a woven fabric for an air bag, which has both of excellent low air permeability required for the woven fabric for the air bag and compactness during housing and excellent slippage resistance and thereby reducing slippage of a sewn part of the air bag when the air bag is received by an occupant after swelling and developing the air bag, to provide the air bag composed of the woven fabric for the air bag, and to provide a method for producing the woven fabric for the air bag. SOLUTION: The woven fabric for the air bag consists of the same synthetic fiber yarns for warp yarns and weft yarns and satisfies the following requirements. (1) the synthetic fiber yarn has a total fineness of 100-700 dtex, (2) Nf/Nw≥1.10 wherein Nw is the weaving density (yarns/2.54 cm) of the warp yarns and Nf is the weaving density (yarns/2.54 cm) of the weft yarns, (3) EC1≥400 N and EC2≥400 N wherein EC1 is the slippage resistance (N) in the warp direction according to ASTM D6479-02 and EC2 is the slippage resistance (N) in the weft direction according to ASTM D6479-02, (4) 0.85≤EC2/EC1≤1.15, and (5) the quantity of airflow when measured under a test differential pressure of 19.6 kPa based on the Frazier type method specified by JIS L 1096 is≤1.0 L/cm<SP>2</SP>×min.
