PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a block for an edge of water, which makes installed gathered stones etc. hardly flow down, while enabling the complication/diversification of the environment in an area at the edge of the water in bank protection for a river etc., and which secures the depth of embedment and the constructibility of foundation work. SOLUTION: The concrete block for the edge of the water is installed in the area at the edge of the water, which serves as the toe of slope of revetment. A top surface of a pot section 7 is expanded so that a front section 2 can protrude forward across a basic slope inclination line A, while a section between the front and rear surface sections 2 and 3, which are provided in the state of facing each other in the back and forth positions of a bottom section 1, serves as the pot section 7 for a filling material R.
