PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve wear resistance and prevent leakage-derived decease in efficiency by setting the clearance. SOLUTION: A two stage liquid ring pump 10 has a main body 14 comprising two chambers 16, 18 connected to a first stage head at a first end thereof and connected to a second head at a second end thereof, respectively. Each of the first stage head and the second head has an inner surface, a side surface, and an end. Each of the ends is adapted to engage with an side surface of the opposed main body. At least one of the ends has a surface designed to receive a plurality of gaskets 200 functioning as a shim so as to set the clearance between a rotor 12 and a cone in the main body.
